Today's word for thought is Adoption.

How does knowing that God has adopted you into his family make you feel?

Romans 8:15–16 (KJV)

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Isaiah 42:16 (KJV)

16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, And crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

1 Samuel 12:22 (KJV)

22 For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you, his people.

Father, how amazing it is that you call me your child! you do not leave your children to be tormented by their fears, so when I am afraid, I will run to you. You are my safe place, a refuge and help in time of trouble. I never need to hesitate to come to you, my good Father.

Thank you for welcoming me into your family: it is better than anything I have known. Help me to remember today, and every day, what my rights and privileges are as your child.
