Today's word for thought is comfort.

Do you feel the comforting presence of God today?

2 Thessalonians 2:16–17 (KJV)

16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Psalm 94:17–19 (KJV)

17 Unless the LORD had been my help, My soul had almost dwelt in silence. 18 When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. 19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul.

Isaiah 61:3 (KJV)

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, To give unto them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they might be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

God, my God, I cannot face my sadness without you. That would be swept away without the light of your love beckoning me to shore. When I am in the throne throes of grief and sorrow, you're the only piece that I know. Help. When I can only mutter that word, Russian with the comfort of your presence, covering me in your overwhelming love.

Like the peace that passes understanding spread through me like the warmth of the sun. When I grieve, I know that you are with me: though it may an end, it is not the end. Breathe hope into my life again when I need it the most.

So we ask again do you feel the comforting presence of God today?
